BRIO SALON • SPA

Announcement

BRIO SalonSpa succession is a family affair, with daughter April & son-in-law Rad Takahashi purchasing the salon from Mom & Dad – Heather & Wayne Tytula on June 1, 2022.

BRIO SalonSpa has been a leader in all things beauty and wellness in Lethbridge since 2008. This was the seventh salon for Heather and Wayne Tytula in the last 30 years, and it was their most ambitious business venture, as they maneuvered strategic growth, innovative guest experiences, and luxury services not seen in Lethbridge before.

“I wanted to establish deep roots in one location, so we bought the building! This allowed us the opportunity to keep expanding on our dream!” – Wayne

And build onto the dream they did. With almost 40 employees in both the salon and spa, BRIO has been recognized as one of the Top 200 Salons in North America for the last 10 years.

“We have focussed on the guest experience by investing in our team. We value continuous industry education and staff development. This has ensured that our services are first-rate because we have created a passionate, highly skilled and dedicated team!” – Heather

April and Rad are no strangers to the salon world. Helping to launch BRIO at its inception, they went out on their own in 2016 and create LUUM Hair Salon.

“Establishing and growing LUUM Salon over the past 5 years will provide a great advantage in continuing the success of BRIO. We also have family members who work in both locations and who are an important part of this business. This is a great accomplishment for all of our family.” – Rad

Like her mom, April is never satisfied with the status quo. As a lifelong learner, she has completed a Bachelors’ Degree and a Masters’ Degree in Psychology and is now pursuing a Doctorate in Animal Behaviour at the University of Lethbridge. April continues to work behind the chair, manage LUUM, and educate for Aveda.

“Coming back to BRIO is an honour. My Mom and Dad have worked diligently to continue what we started all those years ago, and Mom has also created a legacy within our community. Though I could never fill her shoes exactly; I am looking forward to building upon what has been an incredible community business so far.” – April
